Nothing seemed out of the ordinary on October 20th at Madison Square Garden as PHEONIX began their encore with "If I Ever Feel Better". A little more than half way through the song singer/guitarist Thomas Mars shouts "Hey could we get some lights please". CUE LIGHTS audience applause, girls screaming, extended guitar parts, feedback... typical encore. KILL LIGHTS keep only the guitar feedback and cymbals, drone on for awhile getting every louder and noisier.... boring. CUE DAFT PUNK playing synthesized heavy metal riffs... WTF? that's not how this is suppose to go. The metalized sounds the daft pair were making soon morphed into "Harder, Faster, Stronger" then "Around the World" until PHOENIX reappeared onstage and together they finished "If I Ever Feel Better".
